Velvet
The only item you need in your closet for all the holiday parties you are attending is VELVET, the number one trend this holiday season and beyond. Who doesn't love the way this material feels and flows?! Did you know because of its unusual softness and appearance as well as its high cost of production, velvet has often been associated with nobility? Now I understand why I love it so much! per my good friend Wikipedia, "velvet was introduced to Baghdad during the rule of Harun al-Rashid by Kashmiri merchants and to Al-Andalus by Ziryab. In the Mamluk era, Cairo was the world's largest producer of velvet. Much of it was exported to Venice (from whence it spread to most of Europe), Al-Andalus and the Mali Empire."
I just love the deep burgundy color, it's so rich and sensuous. Or why not opt for green velvet with unique detailing.
I feel like nobility already knowing that I'll be wearing velvet and sipping on champagne this holiday season!
