Finally Fall with Cabi
I finally hosted my Fall 2017 Cabi party, and the wardrobe did not disappoint! My fabulous and fun stylist, Blaine, set up her racks of clothes and then presented every piece to my friends and I while sipping and noshing. We got to make notes on our catalogs of what pieces we love, and then when she finished her presentation we got to try on all the pieces! Of course, because clothes make me giddy, I found too many pieces that I love! I bought dress pants, blouses, a swe

Envie
One of the best new restaurants in Lansing is Envie, which means "desire" in french. You pronounce the word like you are saying "on-v." Everything sounds and tastes better in french, right? Located on Washington Square, by the capitol, the space is small, but clean, and white, with french kitchen type of decor. The wait staff is amazing, and pays great attention to detail and guest satisfaction. The cocktails are all spectacular and strong, there are many components in

Meet at Meat. Southern B.B.Q. & Carnivore Cuisine
So in case you didn't see the episode on Food Network, Guy Fieri of Diners, Drive-ins and Dives featured this delicious BBQ joint in September. He was right in doing so, the food is amazing! There's no fluff here. The ambiance is dark and on the dingy side, the menus have a few grease stains on them, the staff is cool kid eclectic but kind. If you don't get there early, they may run out of some meat options. But don't worry, they have plenty of sandwhiches and sides that

Fall Centerpieces
My aunt's birthday was yesterday, and I wanted to make a fall centerpiece for her, so I went to Horrocks and got lost in the floral section. I thoroughly enjoy seeing and touching every type of flower available and then choosing the perfect color scheme. I went with fall mums, celosia, billy buttons, and some foliage, naturally! Today I thought I would discuss how to construct a simple centerpiece. You'll need: container with liner soaked floral foam cut to fix the contain

Woldumar Nature Center Wedding
My dear friend and childhood neighbor married in June at the Woldumar Nature Center in Lansing. I had the privilege of crafting flowers for the wedding party, centerpieces for the reception, and ceremony arrangements. This was one of my favorites because of the simplicity, yet wild and natural design of the flowers. The bride's bouquet featured cream standard roses, spray roses, and astilbe, accented by seeded eucalyptus, ruscus, and maidenhair fern. The bridesmaid's bouqu

Comfortable and Dressy Work Day
After my long day of errands yesterday and an enjoyable dinner party last night, I'm exhausted. Do you ever have days when you do not want to wear heels? This rarely happens to me, but today is one of those days. I decided to wear my flat, black booties with a comfortable yet dressy pair of faux suede pants from LeFleur, a denim shirt and vintage black cardigan from CAbi, as I sat on my closet floor looking at my clothes. Roll up your sweater sleeves so that your shirt pee

Full day of Fun
Today I am running a few errands. I have to go to the library, drop off items at Goodwill, stop at the eye doctor, bake a delicious side dish, pick up my son from school and then it all ends with a dinner party at my parents. Biggest question for me today? What am I going to wear? It's still a little chilly but I want to look cute and trendy, and be comfortable all at the same time, is this possible? Yes! I decided to go with distressed looking jeans from CAbi, a boho top fro

First Day of School 2017
Today is the fist day of school for many, the fist college football games have begun, dahlias and mums are blooming, cider mills are open, and the smell of fall is in the air. So what do you wear as you are sending off your children dressed in their new school clothes and heading to work yourself? The fall season is perfect for mixing your summer dresses with tights, boots, and blazers! I bought this dress at Express the beginning of summer. I wore it to a summer concert

Country Wedding in the heart of MI
I had the honor of providing bouquets and wedding floral attire for the Crumbaugh wedding. A cute country themed wedding with marsala, navy, and coral colors. For the bride's bouquet I used gorgeous deep red, peach, and cream garden roses. Garden roses are a favorite flower of mine to use because the petals are ruffled like peonies. I also used seeded eucalyptus, hypericum berry, and astilbe as accent foliage to give that perfect touch of country whimsy. The bridesmaid's
